"Her blood and bone and breath are music. She is all music, from top to bottom and from inside out." - Mike Greenberg, Incident Light
Vibrant young conductor Alondra De La Parra conducts the CMF Chamber orchestra in a Made in America program that starts with just that, Joan Tower’s “Made in America,” and ends with the classic American composer Aaron Copland, and his beloved Appalachian Spring. Also on this program is Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla’s Otoño Porteño and Invierno Porteño (two of four pieces Piazzolla wrote evoking the seasons of Buenos Aires), and jazz-influenced music by two Mexican composers, Arturo Márquez’s Danzón No. 4, and Eugenio Toussaint’s Danzas de la Ciudad.
